First time a 7-seed has been favored over a 2, and it’s by a good amount.

Take the Lakers

Suns have an impressive year.

Their reward: The lakers in round 1

dang

Yeah. Chris Paul is just cursed when it comes to playoff basketball. He should be able to do OK against Schroeder, but LeBron/AD are gonna eat them alive

Are you sure it was -300 ?
hard to believe it could be -300 and now -145 when nothing has changed

I don't see any history of it being over -200. Even though I think the LAK will get better as the playoffs go on, I'm not sure how anyone can be impressed by their performance last night. Golden State is not a very good team and it took LeBron's prayer being answered at the buzzer and 12 turnovers just by Curry and Dramond. Post above is correct about Paul being very unlucky, but I think he is the key player here with LeBron not near 100% and AD hanging around the three-point line on most possessions. I do wish the Suns still had PJ Tucker as he would be very important on defense.

That's what ESPN said last night post game -- so maybe I was dumb to believe them.

I didn't see on the board late last night or this morning. I agree, that seems like an odd change.

Warriors have been playing pretty well as of late, and you never know in a one game scenario.

Lakers played a pretty crappy game last night, and shot the ball horribly -- especially in the first half. Part of why Golden State had so many turnover though was because of how much LA ramped up their defense. Lakers have probably the best defensive team in the NBA.

I do think LA needs to take advantage of its size more and put AD down low. Hanging way too much above the 3-point line

And I apologize if any misinformation about the price. I swear to god ESPN posted Lakers -300/Suns +240 on a graphic during SVP last night. Again I didn't check a book.

Right now, ESPN is quoting William Hill as LAK -300 so I see where that comes from although I doubt it is still at -300 right now. The reason is that here in LV, they take in so much Laker money that the line is inflated. I checked a couple offshores and each were -145 and my local Stations account was only -150.

William Hill was the furthest off the consensus opener, but on the low side. The talking heads were way off, as usual. :)!/

From the Don Best Line History:

Westgate -185
Circa -175
South Point -180
Will Hill -130

Bet Cris -153
Pinny -175
5 Dimes -175
Heritage -185
Bet Online -150

So ESPN is throwing out numbers and talking out their ass making lines up.

They should be better then that .

ESPN uses Wm Hill for their lines. Not sure when DB picked up their line listing, but it did open at -300 here in LV and was, as always, probably inflated by the fact that there are so many LA bettors here. ESPN is not smart enough to make up their own lines.

After the game 1 win in PHX, the Suns now a very slight favorite over LA.

I'm seeing basically coin flip odds at BetOnline right now.

Suns -117
Lakers -103

Series obviously far from over. But it was pretty obvious to me the PHX is not completely out of their league here. They have nice pieces and the depth to be competitive. And Booker looks like he really is that guy that can carry a team in big games. If I'm PHX, I'm still worried about that LA size though. Outside of Ayton, they really are at a size disadvantage at every other position up front.

The health of Paul moving forward also a big key. He wasn't himself when he returned from that stinger.

At Pinny as of this minute:

Nets +185
Lakers +500
Philly +725

Those are the top 3 to win the title
